Giorgia Comeau—a graduate of the Cantarella School of Dance, has performed multiple roles in ABB’s touring company of The Nutcracker as well as other classical repertoire. Her summer dance studies include Boston Ballet and Portland Ballet. She has been the lead choreographer for local productions of West Side Story, All Shook Up, and Once Upon a Mattress. Giorgia is currently studying Mechanical Engineering at Union College with a minor in dance. Kayleigh Danowski from Ashtabula, Ohio, began her training at an early age. At age eleven, she moved to Winston-Salem, North Carolina and spent the next seven years training at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts. Under the direction of Susan McCullough, and later, Ethan Stiefel, she graduated from UNCSA. Kayleigh trained with the Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre School Graduate Program under the direction of Marjorie Grundvig and Dennis Marshall. While at PBT, she danced corps de ballet roles with the company in “Giselle”, “The Nutcracker”, and George Balanchine’s “Serenade”. She attended summer programs at Miami City Ballet, Pacific Northwest Ballet, San Francisco Ballet, and Jacob’s Pillow under Anna-Maria Holmes. Kayleigh then joined the Montgomery Ballet as a corps de ballet member. She performed soloist roles such as the Arabian Princess in “The Nutcracker”, White Swan Pas de Deux from “Swan Lake” and originated the roles of Madame Giry in the world premiere of “The Phantom of the Opera” choreographed by Darren McIntyre. Kayleigh also performed as a guest artist with the ABBin Paula Weber’s “Carmina Burana” and Charleston Ballet Theatre in South Carolina. Kayleigh recently performed in “Spartacus” Pas de Deux and “Giselle” Act II Pas de Deux. Kayleigh is very excited to be dancing once again with the ABB. Danielle Glynn—from Saint Petersburg, Florida, where she began dancing at an early age. She trained with Florida West Ballet under the tutelage of Pavel Fomin, ballet master of Sarasota Ballet, and at the Academy of Ballet Arts with Suzanne Pomerantzeff. She spent her summers studying on scholarship with Sarasota Ballet, Orlando Ballet, Kansas City Ballet and Joffrey Ballet School. Danielle attended the University of Missouri-Kansas City Conservatory of Music and Dance where she graduated with a BFA in Performance and Choreography in Dance, studying under Paula Weber and many others. There she enjoyed performing various works, both classical and contemporary, especially the role of Dark Angel in George Balanchine’s Serenade. While studying in Kansas City, she had the opportunity to perform with the Kansas City Ballet in their productions of Giselle, Serenade and The Nutcracker. Since graduating, Danielle has danced with the Montgomery Ballet and the ABB in their Spring performance of Carmina Burana. Sarah Gresik from Bolingbrook, Illinois and has trained at Salt Creek Ballet and currently trains at Hinsdale Dance Academy under the direction of Jennifer Grapes, Darren McIntyre, Marcella Ducsay and Carly Snelling. She has spent summers with Montgomery Ballet, Hinsdale Dance Academy, and Milwaukee Ballet. During her time with Hinsdale Dance Academy she has danced roles from Giselle, Swan Lake Act II, Don Quixote, and the Nutcracker. In Jennifer Grapes’ Nutcracker she performed the roles of Dew Drop, Snow Queen, and the Sugar Plum Fairy. She has participated in Youth America Grand Prix in 2013 and 2014 performing solos from Don Quixote, Swan Lake, and Le Corsaire. In 2014 she received the opportunity to advance to Youth America Grand Prix’s New York City Finals. Mauricio Fernandez – coming soon Julia May began her professional career at age 17 with the Western Chicago Ballet. Her repertory includes Giselle, Swan Lake, Don Quixote, Diana and Acteon, Paquita, The Nutcracker, and original works by Darren McIntyre. Since joining the Western Chicago Ballet Julia has had the privilege of performing roles such as, Dew Drop Fairy, Sugarplum Fairy, Cupid in “Paquita” , and Spanish in “The Nutcracker”. Julia has competed at the Youth America Grand Prix in 2013 and 2014, placing in the top twelve and qualifying for the New York City Finals. She recently attended Ballet Austin’s Summer Intensive where she performed two original works by Jennifer Hart. Eileen McDonnell—originally from Troy, NY, is an alumna of the School of the Albany Berkshire Ballet. Under the direction of Madeline Cantarella Culpo, she performed in company productions such as Alice in Wonderland, Rockwell Suites, Hansel & Gretel, Aurora’s Wedding, and The Nutcracker and also attended summer dance intensives at New York State Summer School of the Arts and Boston Ballet. With academic and dance scholarships, Eileen graduated Summa Cum Laude from Mercyhurst University earning herself a BA in Dance and BS in Pre-Med Biology. Under the direction of Mark and Solveig Santillano, Eileen performed with the contemporary company, SoMar Dance Works. Eileen continued her dance career with Columbus Dance Theatre in Columbus, OH. Eileen is excited to return and dance with the Albany Berkshire Ballet this year. Leonardo Moraes – coming soon Nelda Pavanello – coming soon Kerry Piaggione—is a graduate of the School of the Albany Berkshire Ballet. Ms. Piaggione studied dance at Hofstra University and and holds a Masters of Arts in Teaching from Union College. Ms. Piaggione has performed extensively with the ABB including The Nutcracker, “Girl at the Mirror” from the Rockwell Suites, Caprice and Carmina Burana. She also has participated in Saratoga Performing Arts Center’s Classical Kids program, promoting classical dance in local schools. Ms. Piaggione is a rehearsal mistress, teacher and administrator at the SABB. Kerry is excited to once again perform with the ABB for their 40th Anniversary and would like to thank her family and friends for their continued support. Alison Phoenix a native of Coxsackie, NY, Alison began her dance training with Jane DiGiovanni at Hill Top Dance. Her growing love for ballet brought her to The School of the Albany Berkshire Ballet at age ten. As an apprentice with ABB, Alison performed Paula Weber’s Carmina Burana and Mary Margaret Gioannone-Talmi’s world premiere of Light on the Water before entering Mercyhurst College in Erie, PA. Having earned a BA in Dance, with concentrations in Performance and Teaching/Choreography, Alison is proud to have gained her knowledge and experience from a number of notable individuals and groups, including Tauna Hunter, Michael Gleason, Christine Hay, Mark Santilliano, Vivi Flindt of The Royal Danish Ballet, Dance Alloy, and Pilobolus. Following graduation, Alison rejoined The Albany Berkshire Ballet as a company member and instructor of dance at The School of the Albany Berkshire Ballet in Albany, NY and The Cantarella School in Pittsfield, MA. Alison’s most notable roles include a “Big Swan” in Swan Lake, “Arabian”, “Spanish”, “Waltz of the Flowers”, and “Snowflakes” in ABB’s The Nutcracker, as well as roles in Nancy King’s Peter and the Wolf and Autumn and within Karen Corey-Malik’s Aesop’s Fables. Ruslan Sprague—has been dancing with the ABB since he was 4, cast as the change-ling in “A Midsummer’s Night Dream” all the way up to the Snow Prince in the production of “The Nutcracker”. Ruslan has also studied with Darrell Pucciarello from the Metropolitan Opera Ballet, and danced as a trainee with Ballet West in Salt Lake City, Utah. Ruslan is currently teaching dance at the Renaissance Arts Center in Great Barrington. Danielle Troyano originally from Long Island, New York and began her dance training there at an early age. At age 16, Danielle moved to NYC and began training with Sara Knight at SLK Ballet. During her three years at SLK, Danielle had the opportunity to perform roles such as Finger Fairy from Sleeping Beauty, La Bayadere third Shade, Giselle Peasant variation, and the Le Corsaire pas de deux in their annual spring performance at Baryshnikov Arts Center in NYC. Danielle has received scholarships to summer intensives at The Rock School, The Walnut Hill School, the HARID Conservatory, Orlando Ballet and Cincinnati Ballet. She has also received training from the Gelsey Kirkland Academy, Ellison Ballet, and Tulsa Ballet summer intensives. In 2012, Danielle had the wonderful opportunity to study in London at the Central School of Ballet as part of an exchange program with SLK Ballet. At age 19, Danielle joined Montgomery Ballet under direction of Darren McIntyre. As a corps de ballet member, Danielle had the opportunity to perform soloist roles such as Snow Queen and Arabian Princess in The Nutcracker, the Black Swan variation in their winter gala, and the lead female role of Liberty Bell in Darren McIntyre’s very own “Liberty Bell.” She remains as a guest artist with the Long Island Ballet Theater where she has danced the roles of Sugar Plum Fairy and Snow Queen in The Nutcracker under the direction of Christopher Flemming, as well as Swanhilda in Coppelia, and the Garden Fairy in Alice in Wonderland. Danielle made her debut with the Albany Berkshire Ballet in spring 2014 where she danced in Paula Weber’s Carmina Burana, as well as the Swan Lake Pas de Trois. Danielle is so excited to be back and spending Nutcracker season in the beautiful Berkshires with the Albany Berkshire Ballet family.
